Very often users report to me that they have to deal with electrostatic distortion. This is of course a serious problem. Not only that it can disturb on going measurements, it also can be very harmful to the electronics and the probe in particular.
I therefore strongly recommend to use a so called “grounding – wrist – bracelet” which has to be connected to ground whenever one handles a probe or inserts an electrode or antenna holder. Doing so will divert all electrostatic charges the operator may loaded with to ground.
I got quite some broken probes back for repair, which have been damaged by electrostatic distortion. This can easily be avoided. Which does safe money and energy.
I therefore include such a bracelet with every new order from now on.
